3/20/2011 - During her promotion ceremony, Col. Sharon Johnson raises her hand as Col. Reinhard Schmidt, installation and mission support director at the Air Force Reserve Center, Robins AFB, Ga, reads her promotion order to full-bird colonel. Col. Sharon Johnson is the 440th Maintenance Group Commander. She came to the 440th Airlift Wing from Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Ga., where she worked with 22nd Air Force Headquarters from May 2010 to March 2011. The 440th Maintenance Group functions as aircraft maintenance and repair for the 440th Airlift Wing's C-130H aircraft. The mission of the wing is to maintain operational readiness for the airlift of tactical units, airborne units, personnel, supplies and equipment into prepared or unprepared areas by landing or aerial delivery. Reinhard Schmidt (left), installation and mission support director at the Air Force Reserve Center, Robins AFB, Ga. and her husband Wayne A. Johnson, who is a traditional Reservist with the 910th Logistics Readiness Squadron, Youngstown, Pa. took part in pinning the new rank on Col. Johnson. Col. Johnson is the 440th Maintenance Group Commander.
