In observance of Sexual Assault Awareness month, a “Sole” Survivor shoe display is planned for Wednesday, April 6, 2011 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fort Bragg Mini Mall. In preparation for the event, the Pope Field Sexual Assault Response Coordinator’s office (SARC) is collecting used pairs of shoes. To participate please bring shoes to the SARC office located in the Airman Family Readiness Center, Building 431 by March 31.

3/24/2011 - 03/24/2011 -- In observance of Sexual Assault Awareness month, a "Sole" Survivor shoe display is planned for Wednesday, April 6, 2011 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fort Bragg Mini Mall.
According to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, 192 cases of rape were reported in April 2009. The "Sole" Survivor display will contain 192 pair of shoes to represent these survivors taking the necessary steps toward healing and empowerment.
In preparation for the event, the Pope Field Sexual Assault Response Coordinator's office (SARC) is collecting used pairs of shoes and invites the community to commemorate the brave "soles" that have survived this type of crime and their journey to recovery. Shoes are currently being accepted at the SARC office located in the Airman Family Readiness Center, Building 431 until March 31.
Following the exhibit, the displayed shoes will be donated to the City Rescue Mission of Fayetteville, North Carolina.
